After over a decade of researching, educating, and advocating, Stacy Toth of Real Everything had given up on finding home products that were truly safe… until she decided to make her own. 

Stacy's endeavor's have always been on the mission to put safer products that bring you joy into your hands and home. Mission Makers is the studio where Mission Alchemists (Stacy & family) hand craft and pour the non-toxic candles and melts. Because who knows, maybe some day we'll have even more to offer!

🌟 What Makes Truly Clean Candles Different

Our hand-poured melts and candles come in handmade ceramic vessels:

 🌿 Every candle — wax, wick, and fragrance — is paraben-free, phthalate-free, FDA approved, and tested Prop 65 Compliant, which means safety from endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, or heavy metals.
 🥣 Our vessels use only food-safe glazes, so the warmth of the candle never releases toxins — and you can upcycle them into cups or planters.
 🐾 If candles contain essential oils (EOs), they are disclosed and flagged if not pet-friendly. Most "natural" blends contain undisclosed EOs, which can harm our fur friends.
 📊 Each blend is formulated well below the International Fragrance Association (IFRA)  Safe Use and Fragrance Science standards.

💡 Did you know? When you smell vanilla in most candles, it’s probably cancer-causing. That’s because burning natural vanillin releases PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), which are carcinogens. Our blends never use natural vanillin; when vanilla notes are included, we disclose the safe synthetic (Ethyl Vanillin) and its percentage. Each ingredient is screened to make sure you can breathe easy.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

🕯️ What kind of wax & wick do you use?

We use Ceda Serica® Coconut Apricot Wax, a luxury, clean-burning, vegan wax that meets California Prop 65 standards.

You've heard soy wax is safer? Us too! And compared to parafin wax, it is. But, most soy wax contains pesticide residues and contaminants, and its processing with hexane makes it ineligible for organic certification. Coconut Apricot wax gives a smooth, creamy finish, excellent scent throw (even when cold), and requires no phthalates.

Our wicks are eco-friendly cotton flat braid with integrated paper filament. They’re lead- and zinc-free, primed with natural wax for clean, even burning.

🏺 Can I re-use my ceramic vessel?

Yes, please! In fact, they're created with the hope you will. Often, the inside will surprise you! Once your candle is finished, put it in a cold oven heating up to about 200. When the wax melts you can clean it out and reuse it as a cup, planter, or keepsake. It's food safe and dishwasher safe, too.

♻️ Can I get what I bought before?

Because each vessel and candle is unique, nothing can ever be exactly the same. But Stacy loves to make custom orders, so e-mail her.

Note: our candle batches are hand crafted and poured seasonally and are often limited edition (we will maintain a couple of core scents). If you love one, grab it while it’s in stock.

 🔥 What is a wax melt?

Wax melts are the candle without the fire - and thus without smoke. They're a safer option and we highly encourage you to give them a try. While the wax it still our safer coconut apricot blend, it's slightly different and allows the wax to become fully liquid. This means you can repeatedly use it either on a warmer or under a candle lamp. 

You can refill your candle vessel with wax melt! You'll just need to follow the instructions to empty the candle first, since the waxes are not the same.

Fun fact, you can put any candle you have under a lamp or warmer - you don't have to use the wick (but will need to trim it). 

When I find candle warmers at thrift stores I grab and offer them here. I also offer empty vessels you can fill with wax melts that are sold without a vessel. MYO "candle" by combining the two!

 🌈 Why are all your candles the same color?

Adding dye to the wax isn't necessary and only adds chemical risk. Your candle wax is the highest quality on the market, enjoy the creamy dreamy white in all scent profiles!

🐾 Why do some candles say they’re not pet safe?

Many essential oils (EOs), especially citrus, can be harmful to pets. Most "natural" scents don’t disclose their fragrance oils, let alone pet safety. We do.

Just because something is natural doesn't mean it's safe (i.e. snake venom and poison ivy). If you have fur friends at home, our disclosure aims to allow you to be mindful of their air as well as your own.

Our formulas are highly diluted, and the actual EO percentages are very low. Stacy feels safe burning all of our blends at home with dogs and cats. If you have sensitive pets in a small space, stick to our pet-friendly blends.

🌸 Your candles contain “fragrance” — are they safe?

Yes. Stacy sourced from a the only manufacturer that met her Beyond Clean standards. Many fragrance oils, and thus products using them, claim they're from a "clean" line. Ours have been specifically selected because they exceed Stacy's very high safety standards:

 ✅ Paraben- & phthalate-free
 ✅ Prop 65 compliant (no endocrine disruptors, heavy metals, or carcinogens)
 ✅ No natural vanillin (which releases carcinogens when burned)
 ✅ All blends are formulated well below IFRA safe-use levels
