This listing is for you to sign-up for 4-week hand building pottery class.
Each week we will learn a specific technique with your choice of project within the framework. General structure is as follows:
- Week 1 - Wedging, centering, throwing cylindrical forms.
- Week 2 - Cups and trimming; small bowls.
- Week 3 - Plates and wide bowls, pulling and attaching handles.
- Week 4 - Focus on finishing (glazing, foot design, trimming).
Instructor is available for help and instruction for any other requested projects during class times, which includes any tools in studio: slab roller, templates, rollers, forms, etc. We have boards you can use, but bringing your own bats if you have them.
Classes are 2 hours, with a half-hour buffer each for set-up and clean-up (3 hour total window). If you are unable to attend a class you may makeup the hours at a Clay Date open studio time for free (no instruction).
Clay is purchased separately from the studio. Clay is $5/lb and includes both firings as well as glaze, underglaze, and transfers.
If you'd like to do this with a friend, I suggest purchasing both available spots at the same time (if someone else books it I cannot provide a 3rd seat).
